One of our latest success stories is with accommodation provider (and as the name suggests, a site that lists cottages for large groups and families), Big-Cottages.com. Our recent link-building campaign for them delivered fantastic PR agency results.
What we did:
We worked with Big-Cottages.com on its first link-building PR campaign. We wanted a creative idea that would relate to the kinds of people that would book accommodation for larger groups as well as build links (and hopefully deliver great PR agency results).
We came up with different ideas that would link to large groups of people getting together in the UK – and that’s when we thought about wedding celebrations, and how much is usually done with close friends and family leading up to the big day.
The idea we decided on would help brides and grooms-to-be (and their bridesmaids/groomsmen) in planning their last hurrah before married life: the most popular stag and hen do destinations in the UK.
Using Big-Cottages.com’s internal data, we looked at the destinations being booked or searched for on the website that are hen/stag do-friendly and how much on average they cost. The final list would create a useful guide for those researching bride or grooms’ ‘last night of freedom’ in the UK and a cheaper alternative to jetting-off overseas.
Using the data, we wrote up the story and released it in the lead up to Valentine’s Day (when people are likely to get engaged) and issued it to our media contacts we thought would be interested.
