PR in 2019 is exciting.
There are more ways to reach an audience than ever before.
Clients are, rightly, more measurement-conscious than at any time since I started working in PR, 12 years ago.
A video we published last week of me talking through our PR agency results (specifically relating to linkbuilding / PR for SEO) over the last year went down well, and got me thinking about ways to use PowerPoint’s video recording feature to create internal training presentations for current and future staff.
Then I thought – why not share them!? I started PRexamples.com back in 2012 as a way to inspire and educate everybody from students to more senior professionals while, importantly, having a laugh, and this will be much the same.
So, I’m going to create a series of how-to guides for the modern PR person (crossing over into multiple marketing disciplines now as it does), and releasing them for free over the coming weeks and months.
We will be recording video commentary for each slide and posting to YouTube, including themes such as:
– press release writing
– coming up with creative campaign ideas
– linkbuilding / PR for SEO best practise
– the best ways to pitch journalists
– paid social media – targeting, creative, testing and reporting
– how performance-led/affiliate marketing intersects with PR
– how to pitch features and comment pieces
– career development
The video I made, so you know what to expect…
